How to Get Rid of Stomach Bloating?

Feeling bloated is something that is all too common. I’m sure everybody has felt bloated at least once in their lifetime. Bloating is the feeling when your belly is swollen after eating. It is usually caused by your body having an excess amount of gas or a disturbance in digestive system. You might feel tight, pressured or full and might lead to your abdomen to be swollen. This issue sometimes goes away after a while, but some people might have a more chronic situation.

If you get stomach pain and bloating after eating, it might be due to a digestive issue. One cause could be due to you eating too much food faster than you should. Another cause is that you could have eaten something that you are intolerant to. Gas is something that is natural to your body, it actually is produced while you digest food. Your gut bacteria digests carbohydrates and gas is produced as a byproduct. In addition to that, you can also ingest gas by swallowing air or by drinking carbonated drinks.

First thing that might help with reducing the amount of food you eat. If you eat big meals and find yourself feeling uncomfortable after eating, perhaps you should try smaller portions. Instead of eating a big portion in one go, you could eat your smaller portions more spaced out throughout the day. Throughout chewing your food in your mouth can also help reduce the amount of air you swallow with the food and make you eat slower.

Exercise might also improve your bloating issues. You should start off with gentle and relaxing activities such as yoga or walking. A small 15 minutes to 30 minutes session might be helpful. Getting your body moving can help alleviate the uncomfortable feelings of bloating. When you exercise, you can help move some of the gas in your digestive system. Not only can it reduce gas, it can also help you move your food through your stomach faster.

Managing your stress is also helpful in reducing stomach bloating. While you are stressed, your blood is redirected into your muscles and away from your digestive system. The blood helps your body prepare itself to fight or flight. Your body pools most of their resources into your muscles and this leaves your digestive system to slow down and leave the food in your stomach. If you relax yourself, you will be able to bring back resources to your digestive system to keep it moving.

Ginger is a very effective digestive aid that helps alleviate gas and bloating. It is an ingredient that has been used in cooking and medicine since ancient times. Ginger is a very effective carminative, it helps soothe your digestive tract and relieve the gas inside.

In the long run, the best way to prevent your future bloats is to figure out what is causing it. Generally, bloating is a minor issue that can be fixed from some lifestyle changes. If it is a chronic issue that causes major issues in your life, you should always see a doctor. There is a chance that your bloating could be a symptom of a major medical condition and might require diagnosis from a doctor. Doctors might x-ray your intestines, test you for lactose intolerance or celiac disease.
