How to Take Ghee in the Morning for Weight Loss?

Nowadays, ghee has been gaining popularity in the health and wellness circles due to the believed health benefits that it can provide. Lots of people are currently becoming more health conscious of their diet and lifestyle choices. With that, ghee has been often looked into because of their nutritional content and possible ability to support your weight loss and gut health.

Ghee is a certain type of clarified butter that first appeared in India and is still now commonly used in Indian cooking. It is made by simmering the butter slowly, therefore separating the milk solids and water from the fat. This leaves behind a translucent, golden liquid after simmering. The milk solids are then removed, creating a pure butterfat with a rich, nutty flavour and a high smoke point.

It has long been used in Indian Ayurvedic medicine and cooking due to its potential health benefits. It contains several different vitamins such as vitamin A, E, D and K. However, although they do contain these vitamins, it is definitely not as rich in vitamins as other types of foods you can eat. Ghee contains a good amount of vitamin A, which is good for your vision, immune system and skin health. It is also fat soluble and therefore it can be stored in your body’s fat and liver. It also contains a decent amount of vitamin E, which is considered a type of antioxidant that can help protect your cells from damages caused by free radicals. It can also help your skin health (healthy glow) and immune system.

Ghee also has conjugated linoleum acid (CLA). This is a type of fatty acid that can be found naturally in animal products (meat and dairy). Nowadays, conjugated linoleum acid (CLA) has been going mainstream for their potential health benefits in helping with weight management and improving your body’s composition.

Although there are positive results suggesting CLA is good for weight loss or weight management, the studies so far are quite mixed and not consistent. Some studies that have been done have suggested conjugated linoleum acid has the ability to positively affect your body by reducing your fat mass and increasing your lean body mass. This might improve your body composition, however studies show that the results are generally marginal.

Some studies suggest that CLA has the ability to influence how you metabolise fat, regulate your appetite and burn energy. Multiple different dosages and duration have been tried and tested out, however the best dosage or duration to take CLA is still unclear. The response to conjugated linoleum acid has been shown that it varies among people. Different people respond differently to CLA and one might see great change while another might not see any change at all.

If you are interested in taking ghee in the morning, it can be eaten in a wide range of ways. Because ghee has a very rich flavour, I personally think it adds depth and the umami factor into your dishes. It has the ability to help mix in with the flavours of your ingredients to bring out an even more intense flavour. It has a very smooth and tastes slightly creamy. To most people, this really helps enhance the smell of the dishes you put ghee into. It is also such a versatile ingredient and can be used in many different types of dishes and even in a variety of different cuisines.

One thing you should take note is that you should always consume ghee in moderation and always check with your doctor or a nutritionist if you are unsure about what to do.

    Bulletproof Coffee

Bulletproof coffee is a popular drink that is currently very popular to drink in the morning. It was originally created by Dave Asprey, who claims that drinking bulletproof coffee in the morning can provide energy, enhanced mental clarity and even help with weight loss. This coffee drink consist of plain coffee, ghee and MCT oil. The MCT oil is a type of fat that you can quickly absorb and convert it into energy in your body. It is supposedly believed to help provide a quick and sustainable source of energy without providing you the crash that is often associated with caffeine or sugar.

After mixing everything, you can use a blender to blend everything together to create a more smooth, rich and frothy taste. The blending really helps create a more creamy taste and texture to your coffee. I would imagine you probably don’t want to drink coffee with just a scoop of ghee inside.

When you drink bulletproof coffee, it is considered as a replacement for your breakfast. This is especially sen in those who are following a ketogenic diet. Some people believe that bulletproof coffee can help promote ketosis in which your body will burn fat for energy instead of carbohydrates.

    Warm Water With Ghee

For those of you who would prefer not to drink coffee, you can also mix ghee with warm water. It is believed that even mixing ghee in warm water can also provide you with energy and might even kick start your digestion and metabolism. This might help with weight loss.

You can also put ghee with food. Ghee is basically butter, you can replace the butter you put into foods with ghee. This could include putting ghee on your bakery goods such as toast, pancakes and waffles. You can also cook with it, ghee pairs really well with cooking vegetables, meat, seafood and even making soup. Personally, I like to use a little bit of ghee to sauté my vegetables to make a nice stir fry vegetable dish to enjoy.

Overall, ghee is very versatile and can be used in both sweet and savoury dishes to help add a nice touch of richness, flavour and even moisture. You should try it out and experiment with ghee to figure out what you like and dislike. However, you should always know that you should eat ghee in moderation. Although ghee might be good for those who are lactose intolerant or have dairy sensitivities, you should always consume it in moderation. This is especially important as ghee is very high in calories (much like butter). Practice moderation in your eating habits can help with improving your overall health and maintaining a god digestive system and reducing chronic diseases.

Not sure which types of ghee to get?

Here are a few I recommend

    Carrington Farm’s Ghee

This one is a little more expensive, but it is organic and has tested and approved by the USDA. However, because it is organic, I found that it did not last as long as the other brands.

    Amul’s Pure Ghee

This one is much cheaper and more of a bulk purchase. It is considered as one of the best Indian ghee available to be purchased. You might even be able to see this brand in your local supermarket!
