I am completely in love with this product!
Mario Badescu’s Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater is a hydrating mist that includes herbal extracts and rosewater to help dehydrated skin. It has a nice rosy scent and makes my skin feel incredibly refreshed. I generally spray it after cleaning my face and then I would put my moisturizers etc. This has become my go to toner for my face but it can also be used as a final step or even after putting makeup on. I’ve seen people use it as a setting spray to help create a dewy finish (perfect for the Korean look), but I much prefer it as a substitute for a toner.
What’s great about it is the ingredients. Aloe vera has long been known to be very beneficial to the skin. Aloe is a nutrient packed skincare ingredients and can help clear skin in the long term. It has polysaccharides that give off a hydrating and anti-inflammatory benefits while also protecting your skin. They also include bioactive compounds that are high in vitamins A, B, C, D and E as well as minerals such as potassium, zinc and magnesium.
Bladderwrack is basically seaweed. It contains a helpful anti-inflammatory called fucoidan. It’s great to help battle the redness on your skin. Fucoidan also promotes skin elasticity and therefore it’ll help with anti-aging. Bladderwrack also contains potassium, calcium, iron and zinc, these help get rid of the toxins in the skin while also nourishing and hydrating your skin.
I’ve always talked about the benefits of rosewater! I’m a huge believer of it. My skin has always been on the very sensitive side and I’ve found that rosewater helps reduce the redness and irritation. It should be in everyone’s staple ingredients. Plus, it smells amazing! Rosewater helps soothe, tone and keep it moisturise. Rosewater is an amazing toner because of its ability to balance your pH while also remove residue dirt and oil to prepare your skin for your hydrating skincare. If you’re prone to puffy eyes, a little tap of rosewater might help depuff it. Rosewater is also highly antioxidant and will neutralize the free radicals on your skin.
Thyme is an evergreen herb that is often used for medicinal or culinary purposes, but it’s also great for your skin. Studies have suggested that thyme might be more effective at treating acne than currently remedies. They also suggest that thyme might have a bigger antibacterial effect than benzoyl peroxide (which is a common ingredient in acne treatments).
With all the benefits, there’s no doubt why I’m so hyped up about this Facial Spray. I have quite dry skin and the occasional eczema and found that this product doesn’t cause any irritation or sensitivity at all. In fact, I believe it has helped reduce the irritation I would get if I just layered my products on my face. To be honest, what I loved most about this product is the smell! I honestly love smelling like roses throughout the day and this is probably the cheapest and most worth the value product I’ve ever used for a toner.
