The Aveeno Ultra-Calming Foaming Cleanser for Sensitive Skin is pretty good. It’s a gentle foam cleanser that also contains oats and feverfew to help your skin retain its moisture while also cleaning. It’s designed for people who have sensitive skin and the ingredient feverfew is something that helps soothe and reduce redness in your skin. In fact, this is so good that even Cher raves about it!

I have sensitive skin, anytime my skin doesn’t like a skincare product it breaks out in patchy redness and just looks dry and terrible, like a mild form of eczema. When that happens, I know that product is something my skin cannot use as it is definitely not appealing to go out with blotchy red dry skin. I was pretty happy when I found out that the Aveeno Ultra-Calming Foaming Cleanser did not cause my skin to break out or anything.

This is a cleanser, it’s designed to purify, hydrate and also soothe your skin. If you have dry skin, a face cleanser will help keep your skin barrier more moisturised and healthy. The foaming cleanser is lightweight and comes out from the bottle as a rich, frothy and foamy lather. Because it is a foaming cleanser, it is pretty good at removing the excess oil on your face while also being able to provide a gentle exfoliation. The foaming particles are able to lift the impurities out of the deeper part of your face and pores. The second ingredient in this product contains glycerin, which is a great ingredient to help hydrate your skin. Glycerin is non-comedogenic (will not clog your pores) and it helps reduce oily skin while also hydrate by acting as a humectant. It’s an ingredient that is safe for all skin type and is generally in a lot of skincare products already.

The ingredient that is prominently featured in the product is feverfew. It is a flower that is related to chamomile and was actually used back in the days to treat fevers, migraines and arthritis. It was even considered to be a medieval version of aspirin. It’s a gentle natural ingredient that also soothe the skin and decrease redness. Studies have been done to suggest that feverfew extracts have anti-inflammatory activity on your skin. Although it is not a common ingredient, it still pack a punch in helping your sensitive skin. It is a mild ingredient that can also heal and soften your skin. The anti-inflammatory activity is pretty great for those who are suffering from atopic dermatitis or eczema. It is gentle enough that it should not irritate your skin  while you use it on your face.

Because this is for sensitive skin, this formula is pretty basic. It is fragrance free, paraben free, sulfate free, alcohol free, hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic. As I usually put on makeup during the day, this cleanser is pretty important as I use it to remove the makeup and clean my face. It is a pretty essential daily part of my beauty routine, therefore I had to make sure I use something that is able to take the makeup and all the impurities off while also being gentle enough for my really sensitive skin. To use it, all you have to do is pump it onto your hands and rub it in circular motion on your face and then rinse it off. It feels really smooth and gentle to use and my face feels clean after it. My face didn’t feel tight where it seems like I rubbed too much off.

I like how Aveeno made this cleanser not expensive while also being able to last a while when used daily. Cleansing is such a small step in my skincare routine and often overlooked by many. Therefore I feel like there isn’t a need to splurge on the product. This is why I like the Aveeno Ultra-Calming Foaming Cleanser so much. It is cheap and it works just the way I like it! The ingredients used in the cleanser are not too over the top, it’s basic enough for everybody to understand what is being put onto your face. The foam just feels so nice on my hands and face when I lather it on. Honesty, it feels like I’m in a mini spa just for myself. The product is capable of cleaning and eliminating oil and dirt off my skin while impressively hydrate my face and leaving it feeling plump and well nourished.
