    The Ordinary’s Amino Acids + B5

I was able to try this Amino Acids + B5. It is one of the newest product coming from The Ordinary. According to The Ordinary, this serum is a concentrated formula for hydration support. It can be applied to the face both in the morning and night.

The main ingredients in the product are amino acids. These are the building blocks of all protein and make up around 75% of the human body. In addition to that, they are important to almost all functions of skin (Yes! This includes the synthesis of collagen). They are involved in the production of elastin and collagen, this keeps the skin firm and plump. Not only does it help hydrate your skin, it also has the ability to help it heal faster.

Overall, I think this is a great product to add into your daily skincare regime. Continue on to learn more about the ingredients!

    Looking into the Ingredients:

Isoleucine, lysine, phenylalanine, threonine and valine are essential amino acids that you can only receive through food.

Alanine, arginine, glutamic acid, glycine, histidine, proline and serine are the non-essential amino acids that can be synthesised by the body.

Arginine: Helps wound and skin damage heal faster

Glutamine: After UV exposure, it can help restore collagen synthesis

Glycine: Improves your ability to repair damaged tissues and speed up the process

Lysine: Hydrates the skin and also helps collagen form.

Histidine: Antioxidant and fights free radicals while also including anti-inflammatory properties.

In my experience, the best amino acid skincare should include these ones: arginine, glutamine, glycine, histidine, leucine, lysine, proline and tyrosine. The Amino Acid + B5 contains most of these. All amino acids in this product are combined with other ingredients to achieve the best results.

The B5 in the product helps to bind water into the skin and therefore improving the hydration of your skin. Their B5 comes in the form of panthenol. Once it is absorbed into your skin, it turns into pantothenic acid which therefore leads to the water binding and increasing hydration.
